A Century
of Dentistry
A tradition of changing lives.
More than a hundred years of family dentistry, service, and innovation — gathered onto a single wall, and carried into every visit.
Today
When you walk through our office, you are not just entering a dental practice — you are stepping into over a hundred years of family dentistry, service, and innovation.
Our Legacy Wall is a curated collection of our family’s journey through dentistry: original dental-school class composites, historical instruments, and personal artifacts that tell the story of generations dedicated to improving lives through dentistry.

A legacy measured in more than teeth
to global impact
Dentistry as a gateway to healing
After graduating in 1923, Labon Smith carried his training beyond the United States to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, helping found what became known as LABEN Ministries.
- Built hospitals and health clinics
- Delivered essential care in underserved communities
- Established a legacy of service that continues today
Dentistry is not just about teeth — it is about restoring health, dignity, and life.
preventive dentistry
Where treating disease became preventing it
While at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, Dr. Kelly’s father trained during the era when Crest toothpaste was being developed — a breakthrough that shifted dentistry from simply treating disease toward preventing it.
That philosophy stays central to our practice today: prevention first, health for life.
the office
A family of service
Both Dr. Allen and Dr. Kelly come from families of service. Their fathers graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and served as Captains in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
In honor of that legacy, we founded Santa Clarita Operation Smiles — providing dental care to military veterans in need.
Dentistry, for us, was never just a profession
Dr. Kelly Smudde
Raised in Indiana, Dr. Kelly grew up crafting dental work and intricate prosthetics by hand from a young age — a depth of early training that shows in the precision of her care today.
Dr. Allen Smudde
Dr. Allen began working as a dental lab technician at age six, developing rare expertise in dentures, full-mouth reconstruction, and complex restorative cases.
A deep foundation of clinical experience across generations
A commitment to innovation and advanced technology
A philosophy rooted in prevention, compassion, and results
The ability to handle complex cases with confidence and precision
We don’t just fix teeth.
We restore your ability to live fully.
Our legacy isn’t history on a wall — it’s the standard of care you feel from your very first visit.
